Karina's work is informed by the felt, unseen energies of the earth which she depicts in her ephemeral soft pastel landscapes. By finger-blending symbols of draped fabric, orbs and vessels, Karina gives physicality to the visions that arise from her varying states of subconscious. Her exploration of the environment is a recurring theme, often sparked by temporal moments grounded in nature, such as the cresting of a wave or the rising of the moon.
